Star Rating: Originally a traditional Georgian townhouse designed by the renowned architect William Playfair for a rich merchant family, built in 1820, the Abbey Hotel (formerly the Greenside Hotel), at number 9 Royal Terrace, is situated in a quiet tree-lined terrace in the city centre. The hotel is situated only a short walk from Waverley train station and St Andrews Square bus station. Princes Street and Royal Mile are 10 min walk from the hotel.
